Offers & payment
How much is my junk car worth?
It depends on the vehicle's year, make, model, overall condition, whether major parts like the engine, transmission, and catalytic converter are still in place, and current scrap metal prices. Share those details by phone or through our quote form and we'll give you a real offer for your specific vehicle rather than a generic estimate.
Is the offer binding?
There's no obligation to accept. Our offer is based on the information you give us, so describing the vehicle accurately is the best way to make sure the price you're quoted is the price you're paid. If the car's condition is significantly different at pickup, we'll talk with you before going any further.
How do I get paid?
We'll explain payment when we give you your offer, and you'll be paid when the vehicle is handed over and the paperwork is complete. If you have questions about payment, ask when you call. We're happy to walk you through it.
Vehicles & condition
What types of vehicles do you buy?
We buy cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, minivans, and vans. If you have something less common, call us and describe it. We'll tell you right away whether it's something we can make an offer on.
Do you buy cars that don't run?
Yes. Many of the vehicles we buy don't start, have failed engines or transmissions, or have been sitting for a long time. Let us know whether the car rolls and steers, and whether the tires hold air, so we can plan the pickup.
Will you buy a car that's been in an accident?
Yes, wrecked and accident-damaged vehicles are a big part of what we buy. If there's an open insurance claim, check with your insurer before selling the vehicle.
Can I sell a junk car with a damaged engine?
Yes. A blown, seized, or overheated engine is one of the most common reasons people sell a junk car. Let us know what happened and whether the car still starts or rolls. The engine's condition affects the offer, but it doesn't stop us from making one.
Do you buy vehicles with missing parts?
In many cases, yes. Tell us up front if anything major is missing, such as the engine, transmission, catalytic converter, wheels, or battery. Missing parts usually lower the offer, and mentioning them early means the price we quote matches the car we pick up.
Paperwork
Do I need a title to sell my junk car?
In most cases, yes. You'll need the Michigan title in your name and a photo ID that matches it. If your title is lost or damaged, you can apply for a duplicate through the Michigan Secretary of State. Call us before you schedule and we'll tell you exactly what we'll need for your situation.
What documents do I need to sell my car?
Usually the Michigan title in your name and a valid photo ID that matches it. If a loan was ever recorded on the title, bring the lien release from the lender. Inherited vehicles and other special cases can need extra paperwork, so call us first and we'll go over your situation.
What should I do with my license plate?
Remove it before the car is picked up. In Michigan, plates belong to the vehicle owner rather than the car. You can transfer them to another vehicle or handle them through the Secretary of State.
Should I cancel my insurance?
Contact your insurance company after the sale is complete and the vehicle has left your possession. Don't cancel coverage before pickup in case the car needs to be moved or something happens before we arrive.
Pickup & service area
How quickly can you pick up my junk car?
It depends on our schedule, where the car is, and when you're available. Once you accept an offer, we'll tell you the earliest pickup time we have and work with you to find a time that fits.
How does pickup work?
Once you accept an offer, we'll schedule a pickup time that works for you. Our team arrives with a tow truck, checks the vehicle and paperwork, and takes it to our yard. Ask about any towing costs when you get your offer so you know exactly what's included.
Which areas do you serve?
We're based at 7777 W Chicago in Detroit and serve the city along with nearby communities including Dearborn Heights, Dearborn, Livonia, Redford Township, and Garden City. If you're outside those areas, call us and we'll let you know whether we can help.
Do I need to be there for pickup?
Usually someone needs to be present to hand over the title and keys and confirm the sale. If that's difficult, mention it when scheduling and we'll talk about options.
What are your hours?
We're open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We're closed on Sundays.
