Why recycle a junk car?
A car left sitting for years doesn't just take up space. Fluids can leak, tires and batteries break down, and rust spreads. Recycling the vehicle removes those problems and recovers materials that would otherwise go to waste.
Cars are made largely of steel and other metals that can be recycled and used again. Recovering those materials reduces the need for new raw materials.
How vehicle recycling works
While every vehicle is different, end-of-life vehicle recycling generally follows these steps:
- The vehicle is checked in and its ownership paperwork is recorded
- Fluids such as fuel, oil, and coolant are drained, and the battery and tires are removed for separate handling
- Usable parts may be removed for reuse
- The remaining body is prepared for scrap metal processing, where materials are separated and recycled

What types of vehicles do you buy?
We buy cars, pickup trucks, SUVs, minivans, and vans. If you have something less common, call us and describe it. We'll tell you right away whether it's something we can make an offer on.
Do you buy cars that don't run?
Yes. Many of the vehicles we buy don't start, have failed engines or transmissions, or have been sitting for a long time. Let us know whether the car rolls and steers, and whether the tires hold air, so we can plan the pickup.
